Chatroom specific rules are as follows:
(Basic Forum Rules Also Apply) |
| 1. | Use proper judgment when selecting a nickname that you will use in the chat room. Avoid using any rude or inappropriate names, as this will only cause you to get kicked from the room. Our main chat room is listed on Delphi Forums' chat listing, as such the nicknames of those in the chat room are visible outside of our forum.... Delphi Forum's Terms Of Service (TOS) apply. |
| 2. | Asking others personal questions such as their age, sex, and marital status is considered inappropriate chat room behavior. Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, refrain from asking such questions. The exception here since we are a support forum, if the questions and information are of value in helping the person. If the person being asked is uncomfortable with the question, back off. |
| 3. | Profanity and sexuality explicit language is not permitted in our main public chat room. In the smaller less public chat rooms the forum moderators can decide as needed. Moderator's decision is the rule. |
| 4. | Be considerate to what is already being discussed in the chat room. Say your hellos and then wait a little to understand the existing flow of conversation. |
| 5. | No flaming - If you don't like what someone else has to say, ignore them. If you're making an effort to maintain civility, and they persist in trying to draw you in, simply right click on their name and hit the "Ignore" button and inform the moderator. |
| 6. | Don't monopolize the screen - Filling up the screen with nonsense talk may seem cute, but it can really aggravate other visitors who are discussing serious issues and can't get a word in edgewise. That’s not to say we can't have fun, play and enjoy ourselves in chat too. However, try to avoid monopolizing the chat when there is also serious discussion going on. |
| 7. | No harassment - This includes communications by email (thru the profile), IM, PM, whisper, etc. This also includes your conduct in the forum. All members are expected to be respectful to each other whether in the chat room or on the board. |
| 8. | Language - English is the language to be used within the Chat rooms. Many of our members are Aspies, communcating is an area of difficulty anyway. Also most Aspies have felt excluded from interacting with they fellow humans in most situations, we try hard here to be inclusive and not make someone feel excluded or made to feel they don't belong. Using languages that are not understood by the majority of the members is a form of exclusion, and makes members feel like they no longer "belong". So, please English only in the chat rooms.

| |
| | If a room visitor violates a rule, we will proceed in this manner:
(blatant harrassement, abusive, degrading speech, profane usernames, for example can result in immediate banning with no warning) |
| i. | A verbal warning. |
| ii. | Kicked – Kick will remove someone from the room for 1 minute. This is meant to give warning that your behavior will not be tolerated. |
| iii. | Kick and Ban - kick and ban will remove someone from the room for an hour |
| iv. | Banning- A ban is permanent (in the chat room and the forum) and will be reversed only in rare circumstances. |
|
| Bottom line is: The Moderator is the one who decides what is or is not ok in the chat room. Any decision made by a moderator isn’t open for debate. If you do not comply with a moderators request, you will be kicked from the room without further notice.

| Remember we are a support forum, are primary focus is Aspergers and to help and support our members.
|
| There is nothing wrong with us enjoying lighthearted conversation, fun, laughter, joking, wordplay, whatever...
but please remember, if someone has a serious question or need, the chat room attention turns to help with that question or need. |
