If you are new to visiting a forum site you may want to review the pages forum etiquette and abbreviations. Delphi Forums also provides a "Tour" that introduces new users to how their forums work. Or you can jump right in, but there are a few things you can expect on our forum.

LOG IN: When you first visit the forum you will be required to set up login information, unless you are already a Delphi Forums member. Delphi Forums hosts many different types of forums and your login will apply to any of those you may decide to visit; the login is not specific to the AS and their Partners forum.

FIRST VISIT: On your first visit to the AS and their Partners forum you will be able to view only the "public" posts. There are areas of the forum that are for members only and one of the moderators will provide you with access to those areas after your first post, or you may send an e-mail requesting access. The moderators are responsible to monitor the forum to help maintain a healthy and positive atmosphere and this early contact helps to assure that integrity. The message you receive from the moderator will explain more fully.

REPLY FROM MODERATOR: Usually a moderator will be in touch with you in less than 24 hours when you first visit or if you have a question, but remember, the moderators are all volunteers with busy lives so occasionally—although rarely—there may be a slightly longer wait.

INFORMATION/ADVICE: The moderators and participants on the forum are not healthcare professionals offering medical advice, they are people who have experienced the differences AS can make in lives and relationships. Comments they make are not diagnoses or professional opinions, simply observations or experiences.

ATMOSPHERE: Anyone is welcome to join the forum and we strive to maintain a healthy and positive atmosphere for both AS and NT members. (see rules) The purpose of the forum is to provide a "safe place" to obtain and discuss AS-related information; those who use it specifically to ridicule, hurt or promote negativity will be dealt with by the moderators and may be asked to leave or blocked from further activity in the AS and their Partners forum.

Following are some basics on how to post a message, start a new discussion, repond to an existing post, etc.

ORGANIZATION: Posts on the forum are categorized into a number of topics with each having it's own folder. There is a designation on the folder when there is a new post in that topic.

SEARCHING: There are ways to search posts by a specific topic, a particular user, or date range.
