Forum Rules

Basic rules of conduct while in the forum.
1.Discussing differences, problems, beliefs, concepts, and even debates are welcome. BUT attacking a poster on a personal level will not be tolerated. Please respect other members whether you share the same views, beliefs or opinions. Let people have their opinion and allow them to state it without attacking them personally. Our good manners, decency, and civility are welcome and NEEDED here more than anything else.
2.Bear in mind, respect also includes being polite. Courtesy will keep the forum a friendlier place for everyone. There will be times when people may speak of things that can be very painful, or feel a need to vent. Understand that some strong language may be used (within reason and content). Please proof read any posts for comments that might be upsetting. If you are upset /angry about a post take time to cool off before responding, it can help keep topics from getting heated. Words can be a powerful tool.
3.I have always believed in freedom of expression. HOWEVER, I will not tolerate obscene, abusive, derogatory or hate postings. Having and voicing different opinions are part of being human, and I will never delete someone's postings just because they hold a different view. On the other hand, if I feel that someone is DELIBERATELY trying to destroy the supportive nature of this forum by posting obscene and/or abusive messages, then I will immediately gag or ban them depending on the severity.
4.Harassment of members of the forum will not be accepted. Anyone engaging in this will be banned. Again, opinions will vary and if you find yourself in an nonconstructive argument with another member, take it off the board to e-mail. Disputes from other forums are not to be brought here.
5.Spamming or advertising. You are welcome to promote your forum , but nothing else, not a business or service. Please see your TOS on Spamming and Advertising on Delphi Forums. If I feel that the forum you are promoting is counter to the purpose and goal of this forum, you will be asked to remove the promotion or I will deleted it.
6.The forum staff is here to keep the forum running smoothly and to maintain as friendly, safe environment as possible for the members. If you have a concern with a decision made by any of the staff, or want to complain about it you are invited to e-mail anyone on the staff here. However, no posting about it will be allowed. It is disruptive to the flow of conversations and turns away new members.
7.If you are having an issue with another member, please direct your posts to that member and refrain from making third party references to them in posts to other members. Either talk to them directly or use the ignore feature of your Delphi membership.
8.Please try to avoid Ad Hominems. That is attacking a person or a person's character and rather than answering they argument or statement.
9.Copyright infringement: Do not reproduce entire stories from the newspaper, magazines, other internet sites, etc., without first receiving permission to do so and posting that permission at the top of the story. You are allowed to take a few direct quotes from any story, though, as long as the quotes are in quotation marks and are attributed to the author and the publication. Dates would be nice, too. You can also summarize the story, while at the same time, saying where the information came from.
Please see the following web sites for further information regarding Copyright Law and Fair Use. We do stick to these laws very closely.

Let’s not forget one simple rule:

"Do unto others, as you'd have others do unto you."

Imagine how you'd feel if you were in the other person's shoes. Stand up for yourself, but try not to hurt people's feelings. Don’t forget that your correspondent is with a person who has feelings more or less like your own.
